DigiMine Inc., a Bellevue-based analytics and data-mining company, said it has changed its name to Revenue Science Inc., and hired a new president and chief executive officer.
Bill Gossman, a venture partner at Mohr, Davidow Ventures, takes over control the company’s corporate strategy from Usama Fayyad, co-founder of digiMine, who will continue as chairman. DigiMine in May 2002 announced a $20.3 million funding round led by Mohr, Davidow, bringing its funding at that point to $45.8 million.
Gossman also has been senior director of global alliances at Openwave, and he co-founded @mobile, a wireless Internet software and services company, which was later acquired by Software.com Inc.
DigiMine’s technology allows companies to analyze information gleaned from their online customers to identify trends. The company said it still plans to target big Internet companies, but plans to narrow its focus to those in the merchandising and media publishing industries.
