Konrad Feldman, CEO of Quantcast, to Discuss Quantification of Advertising at 16th International ACM Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining Conference

The world’s leading Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining conference (KDD), organized by the Association for Computing Machinery Special Interest Group on Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining (ACM SIGKDD) announced today the addition of Konrad Feldman, co-founder and CEO of Quantcast, to its already impressive list of keynote speakers. Quantcast, which ranked third, after Facebook and Google, in Fast Company’s list of the top ten most innovative Web companies, uses science and scalable computing to understand digital media audiences and deliver more effective online advertising and consumer relevance.

Feldman joins keynote speakers Dr. Qi Lu, President of Online Services Division for Microsoft, and Yoav Freund, Professor at University of California, San Diego, at the premier international forum for academic and industry advances in data mining and predictive analytics. In his speech, “The Quantification of Advertising,” Konrad Feldman will discuss modeling media consumption, advertising response and the real-time evaluation of media opportunities through modeling and prediction of consumer interests, behaviors and purchasing habits. A renowned expert in high volume transactional analytics and measurement, pattern recognition and fraud detection, Feldman has a track record of building successful businesses by leveraging the power of data mining technology. Before Quantcast, he co-founded Searchspace, the leading provider of terrorist financing detection and anti-money laundering software to the world’s financial services industry.

“As electronic communication, media and commerce increasingly permeate every aspect of modern life, real-time personalization of consumer experience through data-mining becomes not only possible but instrumental for the success of marketing and advertising,” said Konrad Feldman, co-founder and CEO of Quantcast and keynote speaker at KDD 2010. “I am excited to share Quantcast’s insights with the leading data mining researchers and practitioners at KDD 2010 and hope our vision inspires further innovation in the field of predictive analytics and behavioral targeting.”

“What makes the KDD conference unique is our mission to attract the best and brightest data mining minds in the world,” said Andrew Tomkins, KDD 2010 program co-chair. “The addition of Konrad Feldman as a keynote speaker adds another dimension to this year’s event as he will share not only his perspective as a scientist but also serve as an example of how data mining and predictive science and technology can fuel a huge entrepreneurial success.”

Sponsored by Microsoft, Yahoo, SAS and Google, KDD attracts hundreds of scientists, academics and data mining professionals. This year’s conference will take place on July 25-28, 2010 in Washington D.C. The conference will feature tutorials, panel sessions and keynote presentations, as well as award this year’s ACM SIGKDD Innovation and Service Awardsand KDD Best Paper Awards.
