“Navigating Beyond the Buzz: Putting Algorithms into Action” focuses on practical implementation of algorithms in drug discovery and clinical trial optimization. It will provide attendees with information on concepts, theories, and best practices for implementation. The talk will also address ethical considerations and include case studies and hands-on activities to help attendees put algorithms into action to solve real-world problems and drive innovation in drug discovery and clinical trial optimization.
Speakers: Professors Usama Fayyad & Sam Scarpino of Institute for Experiential AI at Northeastern University.
Usama Fayyad is Executive Director of the Institute for Experiential AI.He is a pioneer of Big Data and AI who held leadership roles at Barclays, Yahoo!, Microsoft & NASA. Founder of Yahoo! Research Labs and ML at NASA where he was awarded Caltech’s top Excellence in Research Award and a U.S. Government medal from NASA.
Sam Scarpino is Director of the Institute for Experiential AI at Northeastern & Professor of Practice in Health & Computer Sciences. Former VP of Pathogen Surveillance at The Rockefeller Foundation & Chief Strategy Officer at Dharma Platform.
